Danita Mattox
Assistant Principal
My name is Danita Mattox, and I am blessed to serve as the Assistant Principal at Myrtle
Attendance Center. Having attended Myrtle from first grade through my graduation in 1985, this
school and community hold a very special place in my heart.
I earned my Bachelor of Education and Master’s in Educational Leadership from the University
of Mississippi, followed by a Specialist Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision
from Delta State University. I spent 17 years teaching elementary education at New Albany
Elementary and in San Antonio, Texas (NEISD). This is my 25th year in education and my 9th
year serving as a school administrator.
At Myrtle, we are committed to providing our students and staff with a safe, supportive learning
environment where everyone has the opportunity to grow, succeed, feel valued and welcomed.
We set high expectations for our students, and they consistently rise to the challenge, meeting
and exceeding those expectations.
Most importantly, Myrtle is more than a school—we are a family. We strive to live out our CORE
VALUES every day: FAITH, FAMILY, GROWTH, GOLDEN RULE, and SERVANT’S HEART.
I am honored to be a part of the Myrtle family and look forward to a wonderful school year.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. We look forward to seeing you at
Myrtle Attendance Center!
